I admit it has been much too long since I've been in touch. As I announced on my Instagram last week, we are awaiting a new baby in December and over the moon. Safe to say the first trimester has been a world-wind but I am almost out of the water. Last week was likewise my brother’s wedding and so things have been nonstop to say the least.
5 things that made me happy last week
Starting a cure at Martine de Richeville. I was starting to feel self-conscious about the water retention that comes with pregnancy — but this treatment was a total game changer. I had the honour (and sheer delight) of being massaged by Madame de Richeville herself. (Yes, there’s a podcast episode coming soon!) I walked out feeling light as a feather and am already counting down the days until my next appointment this Friday.
Reinstated a weekly meeting with my team. Between the fatigue of pregnancy and a whirlwind few weeks ahead — including a month-long trip to New York — I realized I needed to get back on track. I had completely underestimated the power of a simple weekly meeting with my team. It might sound basic, but having that regular check-in back on the calendar has given me a sense of clarity and calm I didn’t know I was missing.
Made homemade fajitas at home. We’ve started doing weekly grocery orders, and having a full fridge makes dinnertime planning so much easier. Last night, we made what I’m calling “healthy” fajitas using Old El Paso tortillas (on sale and surprisingly decent ingredient-wise). Coincidentally,
's newsletter landed in my inbox the same day with her fajita version — way more elevated and worth bookmarking — but ours were delicious nonetheless.Watched And Just Like That in bed. Not going to lie: the new episodes are… not amazing. But it’s the kind of mindless comfort I needed to unwind after the chaos of the past few weeks. And next week’s episode is set in Paris — consider me officially hooked.
Invested in neck cream. My mom (hi, Mom!) has always been great about skincare — especially when it comes to the neck and décolleté. Mine’s been feeling a little neglected lately, and after a bit of research, I landed on Kat Burki’s neck cream. Instant game changer. I’m already noticing a difference.
That is all for now!
xx,
JJ
